Those who use a Mac and are still into jailbreaking might want to stay clear of the new OS X 10.5.6 update at the moment. Based on reports, this new update disables DFU mode both in the iPhone and iPod Touch thus putting to a screeching halt any attempts to jailbreak them.
However, a workaround to this small roadblock has been discovered. It seems that the prblem only occurs when you directly connect the iPhone to the USB port of a Mac, but if you connect the iPhone to a USB hub first before attaching the hub to the Mac, it will work normally. So if you don't have a USB hub lying around, may we suggest to put off installing this new update at a later date until the iPhone Dev Team can release an appropriate fix.
This isn't the first and it definitely won't be the last time Apple will include anti-jailbreaking features in their software updates which just goes to show that while the iPhone Dev Team may be winning most of the battles, Apple isn't just about to give up the war.
