Stop the presses, the Samsung i8910 HD is now expected to launch this month! Sorry, got a bit excited there. But with news this big it’s hardly a surprise. The i8910 (known in other regions as the Omnia HD) was originally expected to hit these shores towards the end of June or early July. But now, news has reached us that Samsung’s amazing new touchscreen phone will be available from late May.

Since it first broke cover at this years Mobile World Congress event, the i8910 HD has built up a huge level of expectation thanks to the beautiful 3.7 inch touchscreen, 8.0 Megapixel camera loaded with extras such as face detection smile and blink detection and of course the video recording capabilities which has got everyones attention. The i8910 HD is the first phone to record video in high definition, shooting in 720p resolution. Impressive to look at on the phone itself, watch your videos on an HD ready TV and you’ll really see what all the fuss is about. Other star attractions include the new touch sensitive Symbian operating system that debuted in the Nokia 5800 (and will also feature in the upcoming N97) and promises a fast and fluid user interface with thousands of ready made applications available to download. Built in HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity promise high speed downloads and web browsing, plus with a 3.7 inch AMOLED display, web browsing is a joy. Compliment this with 8GB of internal memory, expandable thanks to a memory card slot supporting up to 32GB memory cards, built in music and video player supporting MP3, DivX and Xvid files, Built in GPS with A-GPS and Bluetooth and you’ll wonder how Samsung managed to fit so much in to a phone just 12.9mm thick!
