The LG Cookie KP500 phone has managed to live up to its billing as one of the most affordable touchscreen phones in the market today, and now, LG has announced that it will be releasing an upgraded version of it called the LG Cooky KP 500.

Yeah, that’s just a minor name change, but the improvements in its specs are more noteworthy than the change in the spelling of its Cooky name. This new iteration will now come with 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, built-in accelerometer, T-DMB TV tuner and a TV-out port. It will now feature a 3D accelerator chip which will come in handy since it also comes with the new 3D S-Class user interface found on the LG Arena.

The good thing is that they’re still sticking to their guns and will release this as an affordable touchscreen phone albeit understandably more expensive than the original version. The downside is that it’s only confirmed in Korea at the moment with no specific release date elsewhere. Anyway, we’ll keep our eyes peeled on this one for further details regarding its availability especially in the North American region.
