One of Nokia's important announcement at the ongoing Mobile World Congress is the Nokia N86 mobile handset. Touting an 8 megapixel sensor with wide-angle Carl Zeiss optics, the Nokia N86 was designed to make high-quality photos in both bright and low light environment. Aside from its great camera features, the N86 also offers high-speed connectivity.
With an 8MP camera sensor, the Nokia N86 is 2 megapixel short of most entry-level DSLRs. If you're a mobile camera photography enthusiasts, the N86 is definitely a good device to use for this hobby. The N86's camera is equipped with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens which lets you take panoramic photos with shorter latencies and you can also set variable aperture before taking your photos. It also features a dual LED camera flash which provides you enough light on a low-light condition.
For storing photos that you've taken, the N86 will provide you with an 8GB of internal memory. Take note, that's internal memory and not a separate microSD card, which the N86 also supports up to 16GB. The N86 also boasts of an OLED screen which has scratch resistant hardened glass. It also offers full synchronization with PC as well as a functionality for support TV-out.
The Nokia N86 is also preloaded with the latest version of Google Maps. It fully supports Nokia's Ovi service, geotagging of photos, as well as pedestrian navigation.
Expect the N86 to come out sometime in the second quarter of 2009. It wil have an SRP EUR 375, before taxes and subsidies.
